Moodle for Students: Assess Peer Submissions in a Workshop

Applies to: Moodle 3.0.

Students use the Workshop link on the homepage to access the peer submissions they are to evaluate. The Workshop must be in the Assessment phase in order for students to begin their evaluation(s).

Evaluation options for each workshop type

  • Comment: Rate or choose value: No - Enter text or comments: Yes
  • Accumulative Grading: Rate or choose value: Yes - Enter text or comments: Yes
  • Number of Errors: Rate or choose value: Yes - Enter text or comments: Yes
  • Rubric: Rate or choose value: Yes - Enter text or comments: No

Assessing the peer submission

  1. Click a Workshop link on the homepage.
  2. On the Workshop page, there should be Instructions for assessment.
    You may need to expand the heading to view the actual text.
  3. On the Workshop page, there should be Assigned submissions to access.
    You may need to expand the heading to view the actual text.
  4. For each allocation, click the Assess button.
  5. Complete the assessment form for this workshop grading strategy.
  6. During your assessment of the submission, you may:
    1. Click Save and continue editing to preserve your work.
    2. Click Save and close if you finish your evaluation.
    3. Click Cancel to leave and not start the assessment at this time.
  7. If the workshop is still in the Assessment phase, you can return and click the Re-assess button to continue or change your evaluation.
