Moodle 3.2: Modify or Remove Workshop Allocations

Applies to: Moodle 3.2.

Just as there are two methods to allocate students for review of workshop submissions (manually and randomly), there are at least two ways to remove or modify the allocations you have made (manually and randomly). The Workshop must be in the Submission phase for the instructor to make allocation changes.

Modifying manual allocations

This method is good for adding or removing one or a few students to assess peer submissions.

  1. Click the appropriate workshop link on the homepage.
  2. Select the Submission phase of the workshop.
  3. Choose the Manual tab.
  4. To reduce the number of students allocated for assessment:
    1. Click the Delete icon. The delete icon is an X.
    2. On the refreshed page click Yes, I am sure.
    3. Note: If you try to remove a peer that has already been graded you will see a Warning message and text to that matter.
  5. Return to the Manual tab to view the peer assignments.

Modifying random allocations

This method is good for randomly adding or changing one or a few students to assess peer submissions.

  1. Click the appropriate workshop link on the homepage.
  2. Select the Submission phase of the workshop.
  3. Choose the Random tab.
  4. Click Save changes.
  5. Return to the Manual tab to view the peer assignments.

If you try to allocated a number larger than the amount of submissions or amount of students who have submitted you may see a warning that you exceeded the amount available.

Removing all allocations

You can remove all allocations anytime during the Workshop. Note: if you try to remove or reset assessments that have been grade you will see a Warning message with text to that matter.

  1. Click the appropriate workshop link on the homepage.
  2. Select the Submission phase of the workshop.
  3. Choose the Random tab.
  4. To remove all allocations for a Workshop follow the steps in "Modify random allocation" above, with these caveats:
    1. Select zero 0 for the number of reviews €“ per submission or per reviewer.
    2. Check the option to Remove current allocations.
  5. Click Save changes.
  6. On the allocation changes page, click Continue.
  7. Return to the Manual tab to view the peer assignments.
