Moodle 3.2: Limit Access to an Activity or Resource to Specific Groups (Groupings)

Applies to: Moodle 3.2.

By assigning a Grouping to an item in Moodle, you can prevent any students outside the Grouping from ever seeing it. With this technique, people can be restricted from certain activities, or different sets of groups can be assigned to different activities. You can choose any activity, including Assignments and Quizzes. However, you should test that the grouping and groups behave as you wish before using.

Note: Instructors, TAs, non-editing instructors, and designers can always see all activities, and typically should not be placed in any grouping.
