Moodle 3.2: Download Student Assignment Submissions for Reviewing and Grading

Applies to: Moodle 3.2

Instructors can download student assignment submissions to view and grade offline. The submissions can be downloaded one at a time or zipped into one file and then downloaded. If the student submission is online text only, assignments are saved as HTML files which will open with a web browser.

The download process adds the student name and Moodle metadata as a prefix to the filename when using the mass zip and download process. The metadata is helpful when you are ready to upload the student files with your comments as Feedback files.

New in Moodle 3.2: Before downloading assignment submissions, review the setting for Download submissions in folders in the Options area below the submissions listing. The Default is to download submissions in folders. If the assignment submission is more than a single file, then submissions may be downloaded in folders. Each submission is put in a separate folder, with the folder structure kept for any subfolders, and files are not renamed. To download submissions the way it was done in 3.0, deselect the "Download submissions in folders" checkbox.
