How to tell if a macOS computer is being managed by JAMF Pro

Instructions

  1. Open the Apple Menu and click on System Settings.
  2. Open Profiles.

    • If there is not a Profiles preference pane, the computer was never enrolled with OIT's Apple Device Support Service.
    • If there is an MDM Profile signed by the University of Minnesota, then the device is connected with OIT's Apple Device Support Service.

    • If you don't find MDM Profile than it has either been removed, or the device was never enrolled into OIT's Apple Device Support Service.

Alternate instructions

There is another test to see if the device is enrolled.

  1. Open the Applications folder in Finder.
  2. Open Utilities.
  3. Run Activity Monitor.
    • If there is an mdmclient process running, then the machine is connected with OIT's Apple Device Support Service.

    • If there is no mdmclient process, please contact the appropriate Zone support team to have them assist the customer with enrolling their device.
