Customize the header
When you receive your new site, it will have a simple header (the gray region in the screenshot below). The header will appear at the top of every page.
If you are a site administrator or site owner, you can easily customize the contents of the header region.
To customize the header:
- Log in to your site
- Click Menu in the administration toolbar
- Click Custom Settings
- Click Header Settings in the left-side tabs
- Fill out the fields for the header settings
- Website Title (required)
- The website title is required since it creates an accessibility landmark for use in navigation
- Subtitle (optional)
- Logo Image (optional) sizing requirements listed in help text
- Header Background Image (optional) sizing requirements listed in help text
- Website Title (required)
- Click Save
Customize the footer
You can create a custom footer that will appear in a consistent position at the bottom of every page. It will be located directly above the standard University of Minnesota footer.
To customize the footer:
- Log in to your site
- Click Menu in the administration toolbar
- Click Custom Settings
- Click Footer Settings in the left-side tabs
- Enter the information in the Footer Text field
- You can style your text using the toolbar
- You can insert an image or other media
- Click Save
