Drupal Enterprise 7: Scheduling Content to be Published
In the University's standard Drupal 7 installation, content can be scheduled to be published. An example might be that you have a news article that you've finished creating and editing, but you don't want it to appear on the site until Friday Night.
To schedule content to be published
- Log in to your site
- Find the content
- Click the Edit Draft tab
- Scroll to the bottom of the form and click the Scheduling Options tab
- In the Publish On fields, enter a date and time
- Be sure to follow the pattern for entering the date and time
- Time is military (i.e., 3:00 p.m. is 15:00:00)
- Click the Save button
The Scheduling Options cannot be used to schedule the publication of already published content. If you have something already published, and change the content, if you enter something in the Publish On section, the current revision will be unpublished.
Note: Drupal is role based (i.e., "content contributor", "editor", "site administrator", etc.) Not every role will have the ability to schedule the publishing of content. If you do not have the ability to schedule publishing, but feel that you should have the ability, contact your site administrator.
