Drupal Enterprise 7: Publishing Content

The following instructions are for websites using the default UMN Drupal Enterprise 7 configuration.

Description

In the University's standard Drupal 7 installation, newly created content will be saved as a Draft. To publish content, return to the editing screen and change the state to Published. Alternatively, you could use the Scheduling Options to publish the content automatically at a future time.

Instructions

To publish content

  1. Log in to your site
  2. Find the content you wish to publish
  3. Click the Edit Draft tab
  4. At the bottom of the editing form, click the Publishing Options tab
  5. Change the action to Published
  6. Add a log message
  7. Click Save

the publishing options tab at the bottom of the content form.

Note: The content should be visible to the public nearly immediately. Please refer to the Caching article for more information.

Note: Drupal is role based (i.e., "content contributor", "editor", "site administrator", etc.) Not every role will have the ability to publish content. If you do not have the ability to publish content, but feel that you should have the ability, contact your site administrator.
