Drupal Enterprise 7: Inserting Tables into Rich Text Fields

The following instructions are for websites using the default UMN Drupal Enterprise 7 configuration.

Description

You can use the table buttons on the toolbar to insert and manipulate tables. All of the table manipulation buttons will be inaccessible until you have inserted a table.

Instructions

Click the Insert Table button and enter the General Properties.

After inserting a table, the table tools will be active on the toolbar:

From left to right:

Insert Table - this is the button you use to initially insert the table

Row Properties - Use this button to change aspects of rows, for example the alignment of text in the row (both vertically and horizontally). In the Row Properties pop-up, you can choose to apply the changes to only the current row, all odd rows, all even rows, or the entire table

Cell Properties - Use this button to change the aspects of the current cell. In the Cell Properties pop-up, you can choose to apply the changes to only the current cell, all cells in the same row, all cells in the same column, or the entire table.


The next six buttons are for inserting/deleting rows/columns from the table. In order, they are

the insert/delete buttons on the wysiwyg toolbar

Insert Row above the current row
Insert Row below the current row
Delete the current row
Insert Column to the left of the current column
Insert Column to the right of the current column
Delete the current column

The last two buttons are used to Merge/Unmerge cells in the table.
