Drupal Enterprise 7: Editing an Existing Page

The following instructions are for websites using the default UMN Drupal Enterprise 7 configuration.


In the University's standard Drupal Enterprise 7 installation, you can edit any content on your site. When you finish editing the content and click the Save button, the content will be saved in the same state. So, if the content had been previously in draft, the newly created revision will also be in draft. Likewise, if the content had been published, the new version will remain in a published state.
Clicking on the Publishing Options tab at the bottom allows you to change the state of the new revision.
When you finish editing the content, if you choose to publish the changes, the updated page will be available on the public site nearly immediately. (Related Knowledge: Caching, Publishing, versioning)


To edit an existing page

  1. Log in to your site
  2. Find the content
  3. Click the Edit Draft tab
  4. Make changes to any of the fields in the content form
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the form and click the Publishing Options tab
  6. Select an action for this version
  7. Enter a message in the log message section
  8. Click Save
