Communicator: Add and Update a Contact

This article details how add and update contacts in Clearspan Communicator. Clearspan Communicator is the application used for accessing the VOIP (Voice Over IP) softphone system.

After creating a contact, to call your contact you can double click on the number in Contacts and your communicator will automatically dial the line.

Creating a New Contact

  1. Click the Contacts button in the left navigation menu.
  2. Click the Create new contacts and groups button in the upper right.

  3. Enter your new contact's information and number and click Save.

  4. Your new contact will now display in the Contacts section on the left navigation menu. There should now be a heading called My Contacts that lists out your contacts.

Adding a Contact from Call History

  1. Click the Call History button in the left navigation menu.
  2. Right click on the name/number of the person you want to add as a contact. This opens a drop-down.
  3. Select Add to Contacts from the drop-down.

Updating a Contact

  1. Click the Contacts button in the left navigation menu.
  2. Hover over the name and click on the Info button . This opens expanded options for the contact.
  3. Click the Edit button.
  4. Make your changes and click Save.
