You can set a coworker to serve as a delegate on your behalf during an extended absence. You can specify:
the kinds of notifications and actions they can take
the period of time during which they can act as your delegate.
Setting Delegates creates notifications only. This does not change how Incidents are assigned.
Setting a delegate
Click My Profile in the Application Navigator > Self-Service menu. Your ServiceNow profile opens.
Scroll down to the Delegates tab and click New. The Delegates form opens.
Enter your delegate into the Delegate field.
Enter Starts and Ends dates.
Adjust delegate abilities as necessary:
Approvals: The delegate can approve items on your behalf.
Assignments: The delegate can view and work on tasks assigned to you.
CC Notifications: The delegate receives a copy of email notifications sent to you. Note: Scheduled Reports sent via email will also be sent to your delegates when CC Notifications is turned ON. In addition they will go to the delegates of your delegates. This is a known issue and a fix is under development by the vendor.
Meeting Invitations: Does not apply in our ServiceNow instance.
