We recommend 1 of 2 methods for obtaining Microsoft Project Pro on UMN owned devices:

1. If you only need a small amount of licenses, individual work computer licenses can be obtained through our Microsoft Select Plus agreement, currently being managed by CDW-G.

To get to this offering you will need to log into the CDW-G PunchOut site located on UMarket

Steps:

  1. Once on UMarket; click the 'Shop Now' button.
  2. Under the heading 'Electronic Components; Computer Equipment, Software & Supplies', locate the link for CDW-G & click the link that is titled as 'Level II Product'.
  3. On the small pop-up screen click the link that is titled as 'PunchOut'.
  4. Once on the CDW-G/UMarket Ordering Site, scroll down the page until you see the heading 'SOFTWARE AGREEMENTS', click the link that is titled as 'Microsoft Select Plus Licensing' - DO NOT start your search from the main CDW-G UMarket page.
  5. Once on the Microsoft Select Plus Academic specific page you will see a search box labeled as 'Search Within: [Add Keyword    ] [Go].  Enter Project where you see Add Keyword and click Go.  You likely will want Project Pro and you can order the license with or without Sofware Assurance (software upgrade maintenance).  Either way you go your license will be perpetual, meaning your department can use the software indefinitely (as long as it is still supported or the computers running it can still run it).

2. Through our Master Micrsoft EES Agreement once a year Microsoft offers the option for departments to buy into a one year license that covers all computers owned by their department to install and use for Project Pro and Visio Premium for $13 per FTE.

The following departmental units are participating in the May 1, 2016 - May 31, 2017:

University of Minnesota Twin Cities

 University of Duluth

University of Minnesota Morris

University of Minnesota Rochester

If your departmental unit is listed and you would like to use Project Pro please send an e-mail to software@umn.edu letting us know which group you are with and we can send you the name of your departmental contact that can assist you with obtaining the software.

If your departmental unit is NOT listed and you would like to participate, please have your IT director send an e-mail to software@umn.edu and we will work with them.  Otherwise for smaller orders of Project please follow the Order Product button to be directed to order your license from CDW-G.
