NGN Town Hall meetings a success
Thank you to everybody who attended a Next Generation Network (NGN) Town Hall meeting or project presentation!
In the last two months, the NGN project team has traveled the state and presented eleven times to groups across the University of Minnesota system, including the Twin Cities St. Paul campus, Twin Cities West Bank Campus, Twin Cities East Bank Campus, Morris campus, Rochester campus, Crookston campus, Duluth campus, Office of Information Technology Change Approval Board (CAB), the NGN Formal Community of Practice (FCoP), the UMTC NetPeople and Comp-Sec groups, the UMTC Service Desk, UMTC Facilities Management, OIT Desktop Support, and the Biomedical Discovery District. Well over 200 individuals attended NGN presentation sessions to learn more about the project.
All sessions were very positive and generated many great questions and excellent conversations. Common topics included: Network SSID names and changes, the eduroam network, enhanced care and service desk support for the project phases, system-wide network standards, scheduling, core cutovers, enhanced security, network architecture, and more.
