Code sharing made possible through GitHub

February 2, 2016

The Office of Information Technology is excited to announce a new service offering, Source Code Management, which provides a collaborative repository for code. Licensed through GitHub Enterprise, this service is free to anyone with an active University Internet ID.

GitHub’s secure, standardized environment enables increased visibility and collaboration on projects, and its advanced monitoring provides a clear timeline of all modifications and revisions made to a given source code.

The University joins more than 60,000 organizations who have harnessed GitHub to discover, use and contribute to projects more effectively. Other higher education institutions using this service include Indiana University, Princeton University, and Purdue University.

Visit to get started. Login using your University Internet ID and password and start exploring how to create repositories and share them with others.

To learn more about this service offering, visit the Source Code Management page or email Doug Finley, Service Director for Hosting.
