Perceptive Content Upgrade
Perceptive Content will be unavailable beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27 through noon on Sunday, Feb. 28 while technicians perform a system upgrade from version 7.2.3 to 7.5.0 (now called EP2).
This upgrade is required and will help maintain system stability and vendor support. There are no significant changes to the user interface or functionality.
Once the system upgrade is complete, a new version of the desktop client must be installed before users can access Perceptive Content. The installation is estimated to take between 15 minutes to an hour depending on the user’s network speed.
- For devices using the OIT’s computer management service, the software update will automatically begin the next time the user signs in using VPN.
- For other devices, local IT units will need to install the upgraded software after the system upgrade is complete (noon, Sunday, Feb. 28).
Complete details on what to expect will be sent to all Perceptive Content users on February 17.
Recommended: Use Perceptive Experience
If users currently use the Perceptive Content desktop client but do not need to print or scan documents, we are recommending that they use Perceptive Experience, the web-based application for the University’s document management system. After verifying that Experience will meet their needs, users will need to uninstall the client from their computer. This will prevent the updated client from being automatically installed on their computer as part of the upgrade.
