Microsoft Entra ID Duo Integration changes for MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication)

The IAM Directory Services team will update the existing Duo custom configuration to align with Microsoft recent updates, ensuring uninterrupted access to services that utilize EntraID for authentication, including Office 365, Azure Portal, and Targetprocess.

We have piloted these changes with a select group of users since September 23. There have been no reports of disruptions or obstacles for the pilot group.

The complete implementation for all users is planned for Tuesday, October 8. For additional information, those with TeamDynamix Technician access can review TDX Change #1740727

The Duo prompt will be a new one. After signing in with your email and password, the Duo authentication prompt will be on a Verify your identity page. Select Approve with UofM Duo option and authenticate with Duo as normal.

Verify your identity screen. Option to Approve with UofM Duo. You will be redirected to complete sign-in.

Note: If you have Microsoft Authenticator set up already, the MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) verification will default to that option instead. Select I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator right now, then select the Approve with UofM Duo option to authenticate with Duo mobile. Microsoft Authenticator will continue to work if that is your preferred option.
