Announcement from Google: New Storage Policy
Google announced a new storage policy that ends unlimited storage for the academic community, effective July 2022.
The Office of Information Technology is aware of the announcement, and we are discussing the new storage policy with Google and starting to plan our path forward. These changes are similar to those announced by Box last year and reflect the challenges we have been experiencing across our storage portfolio. We will continue to engage with our community and governance groups to come up with data storage solutions as well as approaches for data migration.
Note: The new storage policy does not take effect until July 2022, so no action is required at this time.
We will continue to inform the community in the coming months as we learn more and can share further details.
