Additional Zoom Features Now Available to UMN Health Sciences

As of January 7, additional Zoom capabilities will be available to people who work and study within the University of Minnesota’s Health Care and Health Sciences areas. Features include:

• Cloud recording
  • This article notes special user expectations for saving Zoom recordings to the cloud for members of the Health Care Component.
• Automatic Live Transcription
• Save in-Meeting Chats
• Attendance Reports

Why are these features available now?

Zoom improved their data security controls in order to meet HIPAA compliance requirements. As a result, the University’s Office of the General Counsel has approved a new Business Associate Agreement (BAA) enabling the availability of this expanded set of features for the people who work and study in the Health Sciences.
