Moodle for Students: Self-Enroll in a Moodle Course Site
Applies to: Moodle 2.6, 2.8, 3.0.
Students: Some Moodle sites used for training and collaboration allow self-enrollment with or without a one-time self-enrollment key. If the site you want to access requires a self-enrollment key, you must get one from the instructor in advance. If you know the web address of your site, you can go directly to the site and self-enroll. Otherwise, you can search for the course in Moodle and enroll as instructed below.
Self-enrolling in a Moodle course site
On your Moodle Dashboard (My Home in Moodle 2.8), go to the Navigation block in the upper right corner.
Under Dashboard (My home in Moodle 2.8), click on Site home.
Find the Search courses text box at the top of the page.
Type in the name of the site you are looking for and click Go. The course information will show an icon indicating whether you need an enrollment key or not.
If the site has a No Enrollment Key Required icon,
Click on the site name to access the site.
Click the Enroll me button.
If the site has an Enrollment Key Required icon,
Click the name of the site.
Type in the one-time enrollment key (the key should be sent to you in advance by course instructor).
