You can receive notifications for many different Moodle activities either in your email, on your mobile device through the Moodle Mobile app, or on your computer when you are logged into Moodle through a browser. You can set up what things you would like to be notified about and where those notifications are sent.
Setting up your Notification Preferences
Click the Toggle notifications menu icon on the Moodle Banner. The Notifications box opens.
Click the Notification preferences icon in the Notifications box.
Set your preferences for the Moodle activities you want to receive notifications about and where you would like to receive those notifications. You’ll notice that each column has online (logged into Moodle) and offline (not logged into Moodle) options for email, web or mobile.
The example above shows the following settings:
Assignments: The user will receive assignment notifications when working in Moodle through a browser (Online) or through email when they are not working in Moodle (Offline).
Dialogue: The user will receive a notification for any Moodle Dialogue messages both when working in Moodle through a web browser (Online) and on a device using the Moodle Mobile app even when the user is not working in Moodle through a browser (Offline).
You can turn off all notifications by checking Disable notifications at the top.
**Note: Use this setting with extreme caution. You may not receive important information from your instructor (for example, course announcements) if this box is checked.
Once you have set up your notification preferences, click Dashboard in the upper left to return to your Moodle dashboard.
