The Kaltura video player in Moodle was updated on August 11, 2016. Content linked to or embedded in Moodle before August 11, 2016 must be re-linked or re-embedded in order for the new player to be used to display the Kaltura media content.
If you have copied a course site that was created before August 11, 2016 that contains videos, you should check to see if the videos need to be relinked.
Re-linking to a video through a Kaltura Video Resource
Videos that use the Kaltura Video Resource option are labeled with this icon:
Go to the course homepage and click Turn editing on.
Find the Kaltura Video Resource you need to edit.
Click the Edit menu to the right of the Kaltura Video Resource.
Choose Edit Settings.
Scroll down to the Video section and click Replace media. The Select Media window appears.
Locate the original video.
Click the triangle on the right side of the Select button to choose the size of your video and add it to your course. The Moodle page will reload and display a preview in the Video section.
Scroll down and click Save and return to course.
Re-embedding a Kaltura video into a Moodle text box
To replace Kaltura content embedded in a Moodle textbox:
Find the Moodle label, activity, or resource that has Kaltura content embedded in a text box.
In the text box, select and delete the Kaltura embed code.
