When a student is unenrolled from a Moodle course site, the data associated with that student (participation in activities, grades, etc.) is still maintained in the site. This data can be recovered by manually re-enrolling the student whose data needs to be recovered.
Re-enrolling a Student in a Moodle Site
Go to the course home page.
Find the Administration block:
Click Users, then Enrolled users.
Click Enroll users in the upper right. The Enroll users window opens.
Click Enrollment Options towards the top of the window. The options display.
Make sure Recover user's old grades if possible is checked.
Choose how much student data to recover:
By default, data will only be recovered from the current day.
To recover all data, change the Starting from menu to Course Start.
To limit the amount of time the student can access the course, add an Enrollment duration.
Once the end of the enrollment duration is reached, the student will remain enrolled in the course but will not be able to access it.
Find the student:
Type the student’s name or email in the Search box.
Click the Enroll button to the right of the correct student’s information.
