When you add a Moodle activity to your course home page and it is configured to include a grade, a corresponding column for that activity is automatically created in the gradebook. Graded activities are added to the gradebook in the order they are created. To reorder the gradebook items, Move an Item or Category in the Gradebook.
Moodle activities that can be graded with either points or a scale are:

Go to the course homepage and click Turn editing on.
Scroll to the topic or week where you want the activity to appear.
Click Add an activity or resource.
Choose the gradable activity from the dropdown menu and click Add.
When configuring the activity, there will be a Grade section. Choose Type to be either Point or Scale. Any Type other than None will add a column in the gradebook for the activity.
Click Save and return to course.
Click Turn off editing.
Confirm the creation of the new activity on the course homepage and in the gradebook. It will appear at the end of the topic/week that you added it to and at the end of the gradebook.
