Moodle 3.0, 3.2: Manage the Size of Your Course Site
Applies to: Moodle 2.8, 3.0, 3.2.
Large files should not be stored in Moodle. They slow down your course site for students and make copying the course forward for another semester very difficult. The recommended maximum Moodle course site size is 1GB. All uploaded files contribute to your site’s size.
Your UMN Google Drive comes with unlimited storage space. You can upload and store any type of file: PDFs, images, Word, PowerPoint and Excel files, Google docs, etc. Upload files and folders to Google Drive.
If you have any outdated, duplicate, or zipped files (including backups), you should remove them from your site. For instructions, see the section “Removing large files” in Copy an Existing Course Site.
