Instructors and designers can add images to any text box in Moodle, including in:
Descriptions for Assignments or Quizzes
Note: Do not add images that have a large file size to text boxes that display on a course homepage. These images must load every time a student returns to the course homepage, slowing down the display of the course homepage.
Adding images to a text box
Go to the course homepage and click Turn editing on.
Find the activity or resource you want to add an image to.
Click the Edit menu to the right of the item.
Choose Edit Settings.
Place your cursor in the textbox where you want the image to be placed.
Click the Insert/Edit image icon from the textbox menu bar.
On the Insert/Edit an Image window, click Find or Upload an Image (2.8) or Browse Repositories (3.0, 3.2).
On the File Picker window, click Upload a file.
Still on the File Picker window, click Browse.
Find and select the image file on your computer.
Back on the File Picker window, click Upload this file.
Back on the Insert/Edit an Image window, enter an Image Description.
Resize the image to be less than 600 px wide and 400 px tall.
Add alternative text for the image for accessibility in screen readers:
Enter alternative text in the Describe this image for someone who cannot see it box Note: Alternative text should replicate in words what the image is communicating.
