The studio may be booked for a maximum of 24 hours at a time. Longer recording session requests may be approved based upon a case by case basis (depending upon demand). Please note: The studio is only accessible during building hours.
When is it available?
The Rarig Center building hours are 7 a.m. – 12:30 a.m. Monday - Sunday.
There are two sets of elevators in the Rarig Center. On the South side of the building there is a freight elevator to accommodate large set pieces and equipment.
What is the purpose of the room?
The Rarig Studio C Production Facility is a common good space available free of charge for use by University of Minnesota students staff and faculty.
What resources are available to users?
This space does not have any dedicated video or lighting resources (bring your own equipment). An integrated “One Button” recording option is currently in development. This solution will have dedicated equipment for single presenter style recordings.
If I leave equipment in the studio… will it be secure?
The Studio C facility is equipped with electronic keycard access providing users with temporary access to the space. When you close the doors during your scheduled timeslot, your equipment will be locked in the room and only accessible by yourself (a current keycard holder) and the facility administrators.
