Jadu Forms: Create a PDF of Form Submission

Before you create a PDF Action Template to store Jadu Form data, you must have a PDF file with fillable fields already defined.

Your initial PDF can be created using a variety of tools, after which you can use Adobe Acrobat to make it a fillable PDF form.

In case you don't already have Adobe Acrobat, you can install Adobe® Acrobat® Pro software on University-owned devices at no cost to your department.

Define Fillable Fields in your PDF

In Adobe Acrobat you add a form field by choosing one of the form tools, and dragging it onto the relevant page of the PDF.

Then set the size and location of the field, and give it an appropriate name. Please name the fields in a logical manner (ideally similar names as those given to your Jadu Forms Questions) as this will assist in the mapping stages described later. For each field type, you can set a variety of options through the form field Properties dialog box such as appearance, font and so on.

After you create form fields, you may need to rearrange, resize, or move them to give the page a cleaner and more professional appearance. To make adjustments in the layout of form fields, you must be in editing mode (choose Forms > Edit Form In Acrobat or choose Tools > Advanced Editing > Select Object Tool).

Create a PDF Action Template

After you create a PDF with fillable fields, create your PDF Action template.

When you create your PDF Action Template, you will map the field names in your PDF to your Jadu Form field names.
