Gmail : Event related to "[Name] has shared a document on Google Docs with you"
Note: This has impacted other accounts including Gmail and other organizations that use Gmail for email. Please look out for these emails from other accounts.
Details: An application posing as 'Google Docs' has managed to perpetuate itself to Google Accounts. If you have clicked on any email notification stating that someone has shared a Google Doc with you recently (after 1:10pm on 5/3/2017), please follow the steps below to ensure that you are not perpetuating the problem:
Go to your Email Inbox
Click on your Account Icon in the upper right corner of the screen (typically a personalized icon or the first letter of your last name in a colored circle):
Find any Applications posing as "Google Docs" or "Google Drive" and remove it.
**If when you clicked the document you were brought to a login screen where you entered your credentials; YOU MUST CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY. Please note that password resets are taking up to 90 minutes as of 3:30 PM, May 3, 2017.
