Due to the decreasing use of older versions of iOS and Android, the vendor occasionally ends support for the Duo Mobile application for older versions of the operating systems. These end of support milestones are not an end of life for our application on devices with these operating systems as SMS-delivered passcodes and phone callback authentication do not rely on the Duo Mobile app. Duo will continue to support these types of authentication for older devices with or without the app. The end of support milestone does mean that we will no longer be able to help troubleshooting issues with the application on devices still running these older operating systems.
End of Support Dates and Milestones
On December 1, 2016, Duo Mobile was removed from the app store for devices using iOS 6 or older and Android 3 or older. As with the end of support date, this removal from the app store did affect mobile app authentications for users who had already downloaded the app.
On March 1, 2017, the vendor also ended support and app store availability for iOS 7. This removal from the app store did not affect mobile app authentications for users who had already downloaded the app.
