Service Offerings


The University provides access to tools that enable units to post schedules of University events, and members of the University community to schedule personal and professional events.

Document Collaboration

The University provides students, staff and faculty with services that enable secure creation, storage and sharing of files using Google Drive. Google Drive enables you to create and share word processing documents, spreadsheets and presentations online, and collaborate with others on group projects.

Document Management

Document imaging services area available to all departments and business units at the University through Lexmark's ImageNow/Perceptive Content product. The document imaging system enables you to capture documents in their native formats by means of scanning or importing. Once captured, documents can be easily and securely shared with coworkers. You can also set up workflow to ensure documents are routed to the right people at the right time.

Email Services

The University provides email accounts to faculty, staff, students, alumni, retired staff, affiliates, units, and student organizations, and tools for sending email to groups of subscribed and targeted individuals.

Instant Messaging

Use Google Chat to collaborate and chat in real-time with friends, family, and colleagues. 

Web Portals and Blogs

The University provides access to tools which bring information together from diverse sources on a single customized website or page.

Search Appliance

The University's Google search appliance is a powerful cluster of computers that allow everyone to quickly find specific information on University Web pages, and it is based on the same search technology as the Web search.

Social Media

Individuals with a University of Minnesota Google Apps account can send messages to friends, share links, chat, and share pictures with Google+.

Website Analytics

This service enables University website publishers to collect, analyze, and report on website traffic data.
