Accounts: Requesting Free Internet Conference Accounts
Current Staff & Faculty can set up Conference Accounts. These accounts are free, temporary accounts that allow users from outside of the University to access the secure wifi network.
When requesting the accounts, it is necessary to enter the name of the event the accounts will be used for, the number of accounts needed, and the dates that the accounts will be valid through.
Accounts must be requested in advance (AT LEAST 24 HOURS). An email containing the list of conference accounts will be sent 2 weeks prior to the dates specified. We cannot create conference accounts the Day Of an event; best workaround is to request Sponsored accounts. (Conference accounts are created via a batch process and are not editable.)
These accounts work for the eduroam network. The network can be accessed by adding "@umn.edu" to the end of the ID given and using the full password that is distributed with the ID.
