User Support Services

User Support Services provides end user technology support via telephone, online, or at walk-in locations across campus. We are the front door that connects users to the Office of Information Technology's (OIT) full spectrum of help and support resources.

Service Offerings

  • Tech Stop bytes

    Access Request Management

    IT Data Security designs and manages information access and systems security for the University's Enterprise Systems, including PeopleSoft, Data Warehouse and Reporting systems. We partner with the Student, Financial and Human Resources Data Custodians to respond to your access needs.

    IT Service Management

    We provide tools that enable University faculty, staff, and students to enter and track technology service requests and keep abreast of planned maintenance and current outages in University technology systems. We also provide a knowledge base that allows you to search for information on how to use University software, hardware and information technology systems and resolve technology issues.

  • Safe Computing phishing

    Safe Computing

    We provide resources University faculty, staff, and students can use to keep their computers and data safe, such as antivirus software available at no charge, tools to clean up spyware, and instructions on how to secure a personal computer before it gets infected.

  • Tech Stop service

    Technology Help (1-HELP)

    Our help staff can answer general information technology questions from University faculty, staff, students, and members of the alumni association. Most support is available at no charge to the University community.

    Technology Products

    The Office of Information Technology offers discounts on a variety of technology products to students, faculty, staff, and departments, including software, computers, printers, cellphones, Internet and telephone services, and more. Some software titles are offered at no charge while others are available at greatly reduced prices.

    Tech Stop

    The Office of Information Technology Tech Stops provide a central location for faculty, staff, and students to receive face-to-face technology consultations, support, and training. Locations are on the East Bank, West Bank, and in St. Paul. The Blegen 90 Tech Stop (West Bank) is a state-of-the-art computer lab, technology support, and collaboration center.
