Website Content

The University provides access to tools that enable students, faculty, and staff to publish and manage websites ranging from simple personal sites to organizational sites with large amounts of content managed by many people.

Google Sites are best used for an event or any kind of temporary or personal site, such as by faculty who need an easy way to publish their own sites or project teams that want to collaborate online.

The Drupal content management framework can be used by University of Minnesota colleges, departments, and units systemwide to create and maintain University-branded web content.

Personal Web Space is available to individuals to store files and publish their own HTML pages.

UMContent Transition Status

Vendor support for UMContent ends November 2014 but if you are actively moving your site, we won't turn off the system.

UMContent is being replaced by Drupal. Get the latest news about the Drupal rollout on the initiative site or join the initiative's Google Group and receive email updates.
