Orientation for parents
Mid-June through early August
During the University's parent orientation program, you will attend a session about the Institute of Technology, its academic programs, expectations and opportunities for students, and student support services. You will be able to ask questions as well. This is part of the University of Minnesota parent orientation provided by Orientation and First-Year Programs.
Institute of Technology
Check the Institute of Technology calendar of events for public lectures and other events and activities. Send an e-mail to itparent@umn.edu to sign up for ITems, the monthly (except summer) e-news that will keep you up to date about the college, its students, faculty and programs. Check the student Web pages and the student Dashboard for a wealth of information available to your student.

Career Center for Science and Engineering
Learn about the many Career Center resources available to your students. Find out how you can best help your student explore careers through the resource page for parents.
University Parent
The University Parent program connects with parents via newsletters and events. Parents Weekend in the fall typically offers learning sessions, sports and arts events and activities, and social activities. The program provides information about many other events throughout the academic year as well. Sign up for e-mail updates to stay informed about the academic schedule, topics regarding student life, and tips to help parents help their students.

IT Parents Fund
