Note: Your UMN password is also called your Internet ID password. For the purposes of this page, “password” is used throughout.

Forgot Your Password?

You can reset your password on your own using our self-service system 

• if you’ve already set up your three security questions in My-Account. 

Or

• if you’ve already set up an alternate email address in MyU. 

Reset Your Existing Password

If you know your password, you can easily reset it through the self-service system.

Set your security questions in My-Account. Not only will this improve your security, it will also make it easier for you to reset your password in the future if you forget it or lose it.

Establish an alternate email address with your account in MyU so that you can stay connected in case of problems with your Internet ID password. Having an alternate email address is another way to make sure you can reset your password in the future if you forget it or lose it.
